Our Kente Fitted design has been covered by everyone that matters in the fitted blogsphere, including CtotheJL, New Era CapTalk & Strictly Fitteds, and you finally get a chance to own one.

Kente cloth is a type of woven fabric made and worn by Ashanti people of Ghana. According to history, it was said to be royal and sacred cloth, only to be worn at times of great importance. In the mid ’90s, Georgetown Hoyas basketball team, featuring the great Allen Iverson, introduced the world to the kente pattern, when it appeared in the Hoyas uniform. As a symbol of great importance in African culture, as well as a symbol of one of the most feared and dominating basketball traditions, Kente has a special meaning to those of us at MAJOR, and we did our own adaptation in vibrant summer colors, including Shock Orange/New Era Blue/Ebony & White.

There will be no phone orders taken on Saturday, June 21st, but there will be reserved quantities for everyone across the world to get their hands on this important fitted release.

Thankf for being so patient, while we worked on official launch date, which is today, and simultaneous cap releases for MAJOR EQT Pack.

As many of you know (click here for the link), the first 30 pairs sold out in a matter of hours, and we have been slowly bringing in pairs to make sure that we have enough pairs to go around for those that are coming to the store to buy, and also those around the US that are waiting by the phone to order it from us.

A few teaser pictures for the caps have been released on the internet, but until now, you have never seen the final product, and THEY are instant classics.

That’s right! MAJOR x New Era EQT Pack consists of 2 different caps. While we are known for our 59Fifty fitted designs with New Era, we also wanted that unique throwback look from the 70’s and 80’s, and we decided to create a Pillbox Fitted with New Era.

The pillbox features speckle printed body, with metallic gold MAJOR logo and flag, along with a set of three white piping to give it that sharp look. The undervisor features the carbon fiber pattern, and the whole cap is lined in satin with the DC metro map printed on it. The pillbox is available in sizes XS (7 1/8), S (7 1/4), M (7 1/2), L (7 5/8), and XL (8). This design is made with a little bit of elasticity on the cap band, so if you are 7 3/8, you can comfortably go with S (7 1/4) and it will still fit you great!

Always 2 steps ahead of everyone else, our newest New Era 59Fifty fitted features the same speckled print from the shoe on the body, with metallic gold MAJOR logo and New Era flag embroidery. The undervisor features carbon fiber in a sandwich style, double thick brim, while the interior lining is made of satin with DC metro map printed on it. The caps are available in sizes 7 through 7 7/8 for this release.

Rear of each fitted cap features stars that everyone loves!

For those who are ordering both the shoes and caps on the phone, please be advised that adidas EQTs run a bit small due to the inner sock system, and you should go up 1/2 from your normal shoe size, when ordering.

Can you trust the government?

Rogue Status & MAJOR brings you our first collaboration, Capitol Tru$t, in 2 different colorways!

Designed by Rogue Status’s own Jason Calabretta, he explains the concept behind the shirt:

The Capitol building has always been one of my favorite structures. The architecture, it’s dome and rotunda, even it’s confusing placement (The West Face is usually taken to be the front is actually the back, The East face being the front of the building) and it’s ‘Focus’ by which the quadrants of the district are divided.

The Capitol represents a center or focus. The concept is the opposite. A reversed state of maximum distinctness or clarity.
I added the Masonic handshake graphic on the back to fit this idea as well. The motto ‘In Us We Trust’ represents the cryptic behavior, or mistrust all government have in relation to their citizenry.

The entire concept, being loosely based on ‘Masonic’ myths is simply what the title of the shirt implies: Capitol Tru$t, or how much can we really trust a government shrouded in such a deep vail of secrecy?

On the phonto, which is the front image, the shutter speed was intentionally altered to give a ’shaded’ or subtle ghost like quality to one of the most iconic images in America’s history, the Capitol Building.
